Misunderstanding 5: If the fever is not relieved in time, the body temperature will always rise.

Fact: This is wrong. There is a thermostat in the brain, so the fever caused by infection, the body temperature will often reach the highest point at 103~104℉, and rarely exceed 105~106℉. Even the latter, the body will not be harmed.

 

Misunderstanding 6: If you can’t get your temperature down, there must be a serious cause for infection.

Fact: Fevers that do not respond to drugs can be caused by viruses or bacteria, regardless of the severity of the source of the infection.

 

Misunderstanding 7: When your body temperature drops, it won’t bounce back.

Fact: Most fevers caused by viral infections usually last two to three days.So as the drug wears off, the body temperature returns to its original level and needs to be treated again.The fever will not go away until the virus is completely subdued.

 

Misunderstanding 8: The oral temperature is 99~100℉ is a low fever.

Fact: The temperature in this range is normal. Body temperature changes throughout the day, and it usually reaches its highest point in the afternoon and evening. The true range of low-grade fever is 100~102℉.
