Characteristics of neonatal vision

1. The diameter of the front and back of the eyeball of the newborn baby is relatively short, the visual development is not sound, only light perception or only the movement of objects in front of the eyes.
2. Newborn babies like to look at their mother’s face the most. When the mother is looking at him, he will also look at her mother. This is the best time for mothers to communicate with their babies.
3. Newborns have active photosensitivity, they can see things around, distinguish the faces of different people, and like to see bright and dynamic things.
4. Newborn baby’s eyes have a focusing distance of about 23 cm. If you want your baby to see something, it is best to put it within this distance. This is also the distance between the mother’s face and the baby’s eyes during breastfeeding. When objects at this distance move slowly, the baby will move his eyes slightly.
