The initial screening process (primary screening) should be carried out during the hospitalization of newborns 3-5 days after birth.
If it is a baby within 42 days of birth that failed the initial screening, or the initial screening is “suspicious”; even the initial screening has been “passed”, but children at high risk of hearing loss, such as children in the intensive care unit, need to undergo hearing re-screening.
